ACLS Registration for Staff of Huntington Health, an Affiliate of Cedars Sinai

Employees of Huntington Health, an Affiliate of Cedars Sinai are eligible to have the ACLS Update course paid for by the hospital, if you work in one of the following units, and you take the course at Huntington Health:

CARDIOLOGY, CATH LAB, CERTIFIED ANESTHESIA TECH IN SURGICAL SERVICES, CLINICAL COORDINATOR IN SURGICAL SERVICES, CLINICAL RESEARCH, CRITICAL CARE UNIT, CTU 5W, DOU 2W, EMERGENCY, FAMILY BIRTH CENTER, FLOAT POOL, GI SERVICES, MEDICAL TELE 4W, MED/TELE STATION 45, NEUROSCIENCES STROKE CENTER, ONCOLOGY 6W, PRE/POST-OP SURGICAL, RECOVERY/PACU, RADIOLOGY/ANGIO, MEDICINE & SURGERY RESIDENT, RESPIRATORY THERAPY, RN FIRST ASSISTANT IN SURGICAL SERVICES and SURGICAL UNIT 5E

If your unit is not covered, you may still attend an ACLS course at Huntington Health for the staff price. Any Huntington Health employee attending an ACLS course at a facility other than at Huntington Health must pay full price.

A HeartCode^®BLS Course is offered prior to some ACLS Courses. You are eligible to register for the HeartCode^®BLS Course only if you are enrolled in the ACLS Course on the same day. Huntington Health will pay for you to attend the course if it is mandatory for your position.

The HeartCode^®BLS Course has two components: an online portion (completed prior to coming to class) and an instructor-led classroom portion (completed on the day you register for).

Requirements for Component 1- the online portion, are that the student MUST:

Obtain a course key to access the online portion from Huntington Health’s Clinical Education & Practice.
Successfully complete the online portion prior to attending the instructor-led classroom portion.
Print the certificate of completion at the end of the online portion and bring it with you to class.

If you are taking the HeartCode BLS and ACLS classes on the same day, you only need to register once (at the bottom of this page). Make sure the choose the option for both courses on the registration page.

Physicians are not paid for by Huntington Health.

aha requires all students to have a copy of the American Heart Association 2020 Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Manual.

A student may cancel within 72 hours prior to their scheduled course and expect an 80% refund within 3 weeks. Cancellations made within 72 hours of the course will not be entitled to a refund. A student canceling within 72 hours of their scheduled course may reschedule, but the student will be responsible for a $55.00 (ACLS/PALS) or $25.00 (BLS) rescheduling fee. Additionally, the student must reschedule to a course within 60 days of their originally scheduled course, or all fees will be forfeited. If there is not such a course scheduled within 60 days, the student must reschedule for the first available course. If the same student then cancels or does not attend on the rescheduled date, all fees, including the initial course fee and subsequent rescheduling fees will be forfeited. A student not attending the course without contacting Life Ed prior to the start of the course (“No Show”) will forfeit their entire registration fee. Life Ed reserves the right to cancel a course within 7 days of the start date. Under this circumstance, the student would be given a full refund for the course or be allowed to reschedule to another course without any further fees. Any student arriving at the course without the required items (e.g., course specific AHA text, provider card and/or pre-course self-assessment results) will not be allowed in the course, but is eligible to reschedule to another course for a $55.00 (ACLS/PALS) or $25.00 (BLS) rescheduling fee.
